Description

Nikka has a  line up of Yoichi 12 year old whiskies that used to be called the Key Malt Series.  They have since been re-branded.

These wonderful 12 year old expressions are named after specific flavor profiles.

This is the  "Woody & Vanillic" expression. 


As described by Dave Broom:

Nose:  Smoke again, this time with briny notes and plain oak (almond, pine). There is also real weight behind this. Subtly perfumed mixing heavy flowers with soft/semi dried fruits and hints of cocoa.
Palate: An excellent spread of flavours: cooked apple, fresh apricot, toasted nuts, madeleines, tickle of smoke and a waxy depth.
Finish: Smoked vanilla pod.
Comment: Flawless, sweet, dry, deep, light, smoke, flowers, cream, toasty oak. Elegant.
