Kanosuke Distillery was established in 2017 on the coast of Kagoshima, Japan, by the Komasa family, whose history in Japanese spirits stretches back generations. The distillery overlooks the East China Sea and has quickly established itself as one of the most exciting names in the new generation of Japanese whisky producers.

Kanosuke is known for its rich and characterful whisky, supported by an unusually diverse distillation setup and creative approach to maturation. The distillery's use of different cask types, including re-charred American white oak casks previously used for the family's Mellowed Kozuru shochu, contributes to its distinctive house style.
