Shizuoka Distillery was established in Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture and began distilling whisky in 2016. Founded by Taiko Nakamura, the distillery has attracted international attention for combining modern Japanese whisky making with distinctive equipment and production methods.

One of Shizuoka's most fascinating features is its historic wood-fired pot still, originally used at the legendary Karuizawa Distillery. Together with its other stills, locally grown barley and experimentation with different production techniques, this gives Shizuoka a particularly interesting place in the new generation of Japanese whisky.

Limited production and a growing range of single-cask and special releases have made Shizuoka increasingly attractive to Japanese whisky enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
