Yamazakura is a Japanese whisky brand associated with Sasanokawa Shuzo, a historic producer based in Fukushima Prefecture whose roots date back to 1765. With generations of experience in traditional Japanese drinks production, the company later expanded into whisky and has played an interesting role in the development of Japan's whisky industry.

Sasanokawa Shuzo is also closely connected with Asaka Distillery, where whisky production was revived in 2016. The Yamazakura range includes blended whisky as well as limited and special releases, while Asaka represents the producer's growing presence in Japanese single malt whisky.
