Chichibu Distillery was founded in 2008 by Ichiro Akuto, whose family previously operated the legendary Hanyu Distillery. Despite its relatively small production, Chichibu quickly established an international reputation for distinctive and highly regarded Japanese single malt whisky.

Limited production, innovative maturation and an extraordinary variety of casks have resulted in numerous Chichibu releases becoming highly sought after by whisky enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
