Description

A Taiwanese single malt whisky matured in Bourbon casks at Nantou Distillery. Nantou is located in Nantouhsien, which started distillation of Whisky spirit in 2008 using four pot stills which were manufactured by Forsyths of Rothes, Speyside.

Although the distillery started production only in 2008, Nantou is still able to produce some rather good whiskies due to Taiwan's warmer climate, . The Nantou Single Malt Sherry Type, won the Silver medal in the World Whisky Award in 2015, while the Nantou Single Malt Bourbon Type won the Bronze award in 2014.  Over at the Malts Maniac Awards, Nantou won 3 Bronze Medals in 2014. Quite a spectacular achievement for such a young distillery.

Recently, apart from their cask strength limited releases, they have released the 'OMAR' range at 46% ABV. This shall be their core range; one being bourbon matured and the other sherry.
