Drawn from sherry butt cask WM0047, this single cask release captures Yamazaki at a time when Japanese whisky was still crafted in small volumes, long before global acclaim and scarcity defined the category.

Matured entirely in a sherry cask, the whisky showcases deep, natural colour and a profile shaped by rich European oak. Expect intense aromas of dark dried fruits, old leather, polished wood, and antique varnish, layered with notes of raisin, fig, cocoa, and subtle spice. On the palate, the high strength delivers remarkable concentration—bold waves of sherry sweetness, bitter chocolate, espresso, and seasoned oak—balanced by Yamazaki’s signature elegance and structure.
