Mars Shinshu Distillery is operated by Hombo Shuzo and is located in Nagano Prefecture, in the Japanese Alps. Situated at high altitude in a cool mountain environment, Shinshu has played an important role in the development of Mars Whisky and its distinctive range of Japanese single malts.
The distillery is particularly associated with Komagatake single malt, with releases spanning different vintages, cask types, limited editions and single-cask bottlings. Mars has also become known for exploring maturation across different locations and climates in Japan, creating an unusually diverse range of whiskies.
